The IWC was founded by a small group of foreign, English-speaking women searching for multi-national and multi-cultural camaraderie. The culmination of their efforts resulted in the inaugural meeting of the IWC in November 1998 at the Quinto Centenario Hotel in Santo Domingo.
The mission of the IWC is to strengthen the bonds of friendship between women of all nationalities, while contributing to the host community at large.
The Club is a Dominican non-profit organisation, that strives to expand upon the tapestry of nationalities and cultures of the members. The IWC offers friendship, new opportunities and valuable support for English speaking women. Our main fundraising events are the annual Gala and Bazaars that we host here in Santo Domingo. Health and Education are key to combating poverty. As Volunteers we support actively and financially many organisations here in the Dominican Republic.
